Region II meeting, Saturday 12/30/2000 First there was a joint meeting, to vote on the Regionals 2001 bid. Not attending yet: AGD, ABXi, AGA, OA, DZ, ABD, ADB, AED 49 votes from Region II Regionals bid passes by unanimous vote. Meetings split. Bob Barkhurst took over meeting to run election for Regional Director. Craig was the only one nominated, and was elected by unanimous acclimation. Craig spoke quickly about his plans for the next two years: there have been changes in his life over the past year that could affect the level he's able to serve over the coming years. Craig is now a substitute schoolteacher, a position he loves immensely. He moved to Syracuse a year ago to be the service manager for an ISP, the job did not work out, he was unable to find similar work, so he moved into the educational field, which he is loving tremendously. He's very happy in his field. He has more time to work with us, but not as much income, and he will be going back to school. He will do his level best to do everything that he can to help us, he will do everything he can to be as accessible to us as he has for the past two years, but working full time and taking 9 credit hours at a state college and being regional director will not be an easy task. He appreciates the support we've given him in the past two years and hopes he will continue to enjoy that support and hopes that he will be able to serve us as well as he has over the past two years. If we are not happy with what he is doing, then we need to communicate to him what we need. We have worked hard to increase the number of chapters, we have added two new chapters in the past two years, theta kappa and alpha epsilon kappa chapter. We have worked hard to try to make the smaller chapters in the region smaleer with some success and hopefully we will continue that althoiugh I will say that it has not been as successful as I had hoped: there were obstacles, there will continue to be obnstacles and we will continue to work through them. We have tried to increas attendance at sectional conferences and other leadership conferences. We've done leadership training for our staff volunteers. We've seen positive changes over the past two years and hopes we continue to see positive changes over the next two years. AWARDS Handed out awards Ed Richter read off in a previous regional meeting.
